History

SJMVS'S, Shree Vijay Mahantesh Lalitakala Mahavidyalaya, Hubballi was established in 1950 under the management of Karnataka Fine Arts Education Society led by  Late Dr. M A Milajagi. The Academy flourished due to the hard efforts and dedication of Dr M A Milajagi and was soon recognized by the President of India and many more dignitaries.
In 1984 the Academy  came under  SJMVS'S Management. Shri Manmaharaj  Jagadguru Dr. Gangadhar Rajayogindra Mahaswamiji "Mujugam" was very much interested in art and thus a huge donation was contributed which led to firm foundation and further development of the academy under the name Shree Vijay Mahantesh Lalitakala Mahavidyalaya, Hubballi.
In 1998 a huge, well equipped, and beautiful building was constructed with the help of the then District Collector Shree K V Irnirai and Municipal Corporate Shree Jagdish which came under Municipal Corporation, Hubballi. Soon the academy flourished and  became number one  in the entire state.
Many Art Exhibitions were organized which were graced by the presence of great personalities like Dr. S N Radhakrishnna, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, General Kariappa Many dignitaries like Shri S S Kanthi, Shri D P Karamkar,  Shri Ramakrishna Hegde, Shri S R Bommai, Shri Veerappa Moili, Shri Basavaral Horratti, Shri R J Sanadi, Shri Prahlad Joshi, Shri Jagdish Shettar, Shri Yadiyurappa  have visited the academy and have appreciated the art work of students as well as the faculty.
