S.J.M.V.S Shri Jagadguru Gangadhar Pre-University College Hubli was established in 1992 under the benevolent guidance of his Holiness late Shri Manmaharaj Niranjan Jagadguru Dr Gangadhar Rajayogeendra Mahaswamiji of Moorusavirmath, Hubli now it is blessed by his Holiness Shri Manmaharaj Niranjan Jagadguru Shri Gurusidda Rajayogeendra Mahaswamiji of Moorusavirmath,  Hubli.
The college is situated in the heart of the city. It has a separate and newly constructed, well equipped building providing good facilities and amenities to the students, to build their bright future.
The college has experienced, qualified and  trained  faculty and Administrative Staff, headed by Principal Prof Sri B M Salimath.
The Emblem of our college is unique. The circle of emblem which is filled with saffron colour with ‘OMKAR. It represents the message of “VASUDAIV KUTUMBKAM” (Entire world is my family), the saffron colour is a symbol of sacrifice and courage. The Green colour around the circle is a symbol of “Enrichment”. The light which is glooming in the Emblem symbolises striking out of the darkness of ignorance and enlightening with the power of Knowledge and Education. The Slogans written in the emblem “Shikshanave Shakti” and “Viddeye Balina Belaku” narrates the significance and importance of education. The glooming light of wisdom is the light vision of everybody’s life.
